TRAVERSE CITY, MI, April 19, 2009 — “We’re very excited to help promote the passion for Northern Michigan with the introduction of the first annual M-22 Challenge. The unparalleled scenery of Northern Michigan combined with this unique event offers the community an opportunity to compete in a challenging and breathtakingly beautiful race,” said Matt Myers of M-22. The Northern Michigan brothers and kiteboarders: Matt and Keegan Myers will be presenting the multi-discipline event on June 20th, 2009.
Designed to test athletes against Lake Michigan’s natural terrain and the area’s environmental elements, the M-22 Challenge course promises participants an unforgettable experience with a bike race around Big and Little Glen Lake, an exciting paddle “anything” event on crystal clear Little Glen, and a challenging 2 mile run including dune climb overlooking Lake Michigan.
“For me, the M-22 Challenge is taking place at the best location in the world, at the best time of the year. There is no other event that utilizes the extreme uniqueness that this very location offers,” said Keegan.
After traveling the world in search of a destination full of natural scenic beauty, clean air and fresh water with sandy beaches, Matt & Keegan realized they had it all, and more, right in their Northern Michigan backyard. This passion for the area drove the development of their M-22 business and has motivated them to pioneer the M-22 Challenge which encourages everyone to get outside and enjoy the area in a clean, healthy way.
